It is with great honor and great sadness with which I dedicate this Web page as an homage to the loss of one of our greatest national treasures, Hank Aleno. This relatively unknown but brilliant man was one of the most truly fantastic and innovative computer scientists of our time. Our world will suffer his loss for generations to come.

He was the computer software designer who was responsible for the creation of the Radical Regulated Refrigeration Cooling System, now commonly known as RRR. His invention revolutionized the international Import/Export Food Industry in the early 90's. He amassed a vast fortune from the software innovation, but had been a shut-in for the past 8 years. In the technology circle he was widely regarded as a computer genius, but also considered an outcast. Aleno held unconventional ideals that led his techno-peers to view him as somewhat eccentric.

As a child, Aleno had been intrigued with science and technology. "Little Hank built his first computer from an Etch-A-Scetch and Light Bright. He was such an innovative child," Recalled his Kindergarten teacher, Crystal Dowd. At age 9 he received the prestigious Didul-Mann Mathematics Award. He later was given a full Scholastic Scholarship to the University of Scientific Studies. It was right out of college that Mr. Aleno was recruited to develop the RRR Cooling System. His college roommate, Dan Collins said "Those first few years out of the protective environment of a academic environment and into the corporate world were a struggle from him." Those years developing RRR for the WEISKE company proved to be the last time Aleno would collaborate on any level.

Having been fortunate enough to attend a number of his extremely enlightneing conferences myself, I am aware of the directions this great man was headed. The last project of which he spoke and was working on involved the creation of something only described by him as the "ultimate digital celebrity".

Hank, you will be missed. May your brilliance shine on all of our souls.
